I’m Claire, a photographer currently living in Tsu City, the ‘capital’ of Mie Prefecture, Japan.  But don’t be fooled by the capital tag. My neighbour is a rice field.

About three years back, I decided for reasons unknown to buy a road bike and now spend my days happily zipping about the back roads of Mie and beyond.

Tsu is more like a big country town. It is, in reality, several towns that had a line drawn around them on a map in 2006 to create a city that sprawls across 710.81 square kilometres and numbers just under 300,000 strong.

I’ve started this blog to chronicle my biking adventures in Tsu and across Japan to share my quiet corner of the ‘inaka’ (countryside) with anybody who cares to stop by.
