Seems that Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood isn’t alone in immortalising the footprints of famous people. The tiny tourist town of Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture has also taken up the trend, placing the footprints of notable vistors throughout the city. These are from directors of well-known art galleries in Tokyo and Kanagawa.

Setting out

Onomichi  (尾道) is the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido (しまなみ海道), a road route from Honshu to Shikoku via several small islands that is popular with cyclists. A full post about my two-day adventure on the Shimanami-kaido will follow shortly.
