Gilded by the sun

An Asian Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio xuthus – ナミアゲハ) takes a rest in the late afternoon sun outside Takada Honzan Senju-ji Temple in Tsu, Mie.

Luminescence

This ‘little’ guy barely escaped my tyres when he decided to have a rest in the middle of the footpath. Good thing there was a garden nearby to shoo him into.
